Canva's AI features have been a game-changer in this regard. Even if you're a tad sceptical about AI, these features might just change your mind. Whether it's editing photos, transforming text, or creating presentations, Canva’s AI tools are here to save your time and effort. Let me guide you through three of my favourite AI features in Canva, plus an exciting bonus!

Step 1: Editing Photos with Magic Edit

Magic Edit in Canva is an ingenious tool that allows you to modify elements in a photo with ease, directly within Canva, eliminating the need for third-party tools.

Select Your Photo: Open Canva and pick the photo you want to edit. Click on the image and choose "Edit Photo."
Use Magic Edit: Click the Magic Edit button. Use the paintbrush tool to cover the part you want to change.
Generate Options: After painting over the area, type what you want to replace it with—e.g., "purple clock"—and hit generate.
Choose the Best Image: Canva will present four options. Pick the one that fits your vision or try again for different outcomes.

Step 2: Transforming Text with Magic Write

Magic Write is perfect for streamlining or expanding your text, making it more digestible and engaging for your audience.

Open Text Box: Select the text you want to modify and click on the Canva Assistant.
Summarise or Expand: Choose "Summarise Text" to condense your message or "Expand Text" to elaborate on key points.
Prompt Ideas: Use Magic Write features like "rewrite" or "edit with magic write" to experiment with different text tones or styles.

Step 3: Converting Docs to Presentations

This feature offers an efficient start to creating presentations, especially when you're time-strapped.

Prepare Your Document: Organise your text in a Canva Doc, using headings to indicate the structure.
Convert to Presentation: Click "Convert" and let Canva interpret your document into a presentation.
Refine Your Slides: Edit the resulting slides and apply your brand’s colours and fonts through the brand kit settings.

Bonus: Creating Photos with Text to Image

The Text to Image tool is perfect for conjuring up images when stock images just won’t do.

Access Text to Image: Go to the Apps section in Canva and find Text to Image.
Describe Your Image: Enter a description of the image you want, choose the style and aspect ratio, then generate it.
Select Your Favourite: Out of the four generated options, pick the one that best meets your vision or regenerate for more options.
